With an architectural
approach to the lighting of this classroom facility, clean ceilings and
varying light levels defined many of the spaces. Lighting of the
two-story atrium draws students, faculty and visitors to the core of the
building with a high light level accentuating both the silver-leaf
ceiling above and the lounge area below. Signature spaces include a
curved, mosaic tile entrance canopy and a multi-story library with
custom-designed chandeliers utilizing a high-efficiency induction light
source. The lighting addresses the multi-purpose nature of this
contemporary academic building, which includes a library, computer lab,
classrooms, lecture halls, offices, and student break-out spaces.
