The year 2001 marked the 200th anniversary of Thomas Jefferson's inauguration as President and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Sylvania division of Osram/Sylvania.  In recognition of these anniversaries, the Osram/Sylvania corporation commissioned the complete relighting of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Ken Douglas had the privilege of serving as Lead Designer for this project. The design ultimately received several lighting design awards including the Illuminating Engineering Society of New York's Lumen Award.
