Context is everything for this river crossing connecting the historic city of Stillwater, Minnesota with the rural farmland of Houlton, Wisconsin. Working with an international team of bridge architects and engineers, Illumination Arts designed the lighting for a signature river crossing, hiking and biking trails and a historic lift bridge, while remaining sensitive to the contexts of these disparate parts.  The product of this collaborative effort is a Visual Quality Manual, developed with the assistance of community and governmental stakeholders, who selected the designs that are most appropriate for their site and for this world-class extradosed bridge.
