Working with the New
Jersey Schools Development Authority and their design guidelines for
21st Century Schools,
Illumination Arts
produced a schematic lighting design
for a
new K-8 elementary school. Daylighting
studies
played a
significant role in determining both the use and control of
daylight throughout the building. The school
was
engineered to meet LEED
certification criteria, so a fine balance of sustainability,
aesthetics and visual comfort
were paramount.
