The new headquarters for
the Audubon Society reflects the client's dedication to sustainable
design. Illumination Arts collaborated with the owner and a dedicated
team of designers and LEED consultants to develop the most
energy-efficient lighting design possible, while still meeting the
aesthetic needs of the space and practical demands of their employees.
Direct/indirect fluorescent luminaires and the illumination of vertical
surfaces fill the space with light when daylight is insufficient. An
addressable, daylight harvesting system, individual controls for task
lighting, and occupancy sensors in all enclosed offices help control
energy usage and cost. The sleek and simple lighting design provides a
contemporary look while minimizing energy consumption and maximizing
occupant control.
